Buttero is an Italian leather from the Conceria Walpier tannery, a recognised tannery of the Genuine Italian Vegetable Tanned Leather Consortium (Pelle Al Vegetale). The Consortium is made up of over 20 of the finest tanneries in the region of Tuscany. To be a part of the consortium is to be recognised for your quality.

All buttero hides will come with a ("Pelle Al Vegetale" - Leather tag) seal of approval, and yet Conceria Walpier exceeds even the high standards of the Consortium. Thanks to the rigorous quality control checks they put their leather through, Conceria Walpier is able to produce one of the finest leathers in the world with incredibly consistent results.

Rich leather characteristics

The leather is classified as medium tempered with a signature aniline finished surface with natural deep and rich colors. The leather tends to mark and scratch easily, but it is this wear that makes the leather only get better with age. 

Over time the leather gathers patina that makes the leather glossier, but however if you're not a fan of glossy look, you can always opt to wax, buff & polish your strap to maintain the original look.

Meticulously handcrafted by leather artisans

All the straps are 100% handcrafted by skilled leather artisans, that pays careful attention to minute details such as burnishing, stitching & even edge creasing.

An excellent choice to pair with your timepieces — Seiko, Orient, Citizen, Casio, Tag Heuer, Tudor, Rolex, Breitling, Omega, IWC, Longines, Cartier, Oris, Breguet, JLC, Vacheron Constantin, and more.

• The leather color may differ from batch to batch as it is hand-dyed. However, we have enforced quality checks to ensure that the coloration does not differ too much from the image.
